The Barbers pub, Grangegorman

A quick update on the pub on the Lower Grangegorman road that I wrote about in 2014, when it was still known as The Grange.

For a good few decades till the end of the last century the premises at 19 Lower Grangegorman had been (Tommy) O'Dowds. Then after it closed as the Grange it reopened briefly as The Orchard, and last December it became The Barbers. These photos ring the changes...

It's a splendid revamp. The barber theme runs from the external signage and logo to the stripey barber poles inside, several old hair salon dryers and a working barber's chair. Publican Chris Darby is a barber too, so he can not only pull you a pint but also do a haircut too (by appointment) on the premises.

A recent review in Totally Dublin quotes yours truly, and the pub has also had great write-ups in Publin.ie  and even the Irish Times. For some strange reason, though, both The Journal and Lovin Dublin decided to relocate the pub from Grangegorman (the address should have been a giveaway) to Stoneybatter.

This 360° panoramic "tour" on Google Maps gives a much better idea of the new interior than my photos...
